Amanda Holmes grew up in a suburb of San Francisco. She spent her childhood heavily involved with music, dancing, and gymnastics (twelve years of competitive gymnastics). Sophomore year of high school she injured her ankles and could no longer spend everyday in the gym, so she fell head first into music. By senior year she had her first album released along with two music videos. One of the videos, "Superstar" won Concept Music Video of the Year at the LA Music Awards. In the past five years she's been accepted into USC's Thornton School of Music as a Music Industry Major. The single from her second album, "From My Heart" has gained more than 15,000 plays on Youtube. Her third album, "Savory Second" was released on May 2009. She has played venues around Hollywood including the infamous Knitting Factory, Aura Night Club, Forbidden City, and USC's Ground Zero, to name a few. Some of her influences include Joss Stone and Sarah Mclaughlin. Her music has been described as "A soulful blend of heartfelt pop with a rock edge."
