Vblog: When Grapes Turn to Wine

Filed under: Random Thoughts, Video Blogs — Amanda @ 3:04 am

Check out a sneak peak of my song, “When Grapes Turn to Wine”

I thought I’d give a little heads up into what’s going on! Life is busy! And I’m loving every minute.
1.) Over Christmas I finished my second album “From My Heart.” You can hear the songs at www.myspace.com/amandaholmesband. The tracks will be available on itunes in the next two months! The single “Don’t Leave Me Yet” is already on itunes, but will add four other songs soon!
2.) I’m in pre-production right now for my third album. It will have five songs on it. If I could sum up the different themes, I’d say that my second album is more pop/folk. This album I’m working on right now is more pop/rock/soul. There are three songs that are soulful pop songs, more mellow. The other two are Pat Benatar type pop/rock songs! The producer, Kevin Rivers, and I are actively working to get this album done by my summer tour in May.
3.) Summer tour, all coming along. Last summer Shani and I toured California, and this year we’re venturing up to Oregon as well!! I’m stoaked! It will be a blast! I’m focusing on sponsorship and booking right now, and a little later will start getting other acts to play with us, and marketing!

Besides that I’m going to school full time at USC, I’m a GrammyU rep for USC, I’m on the board of the Entrepreneur Club (largest organization at USC), and I’m working hard to keep my sanity ;)
So keep tuning in, lots of fun stuff to come!!

Vblog: Fijjian Song!

Filed under: Video Blogs — Amanda @ 3:13 am

Hey hey!

I was lucky enough to go to FIJI for nine days during Christmas. It was AMAZING! Its a third world country, so there is a lot of poverty there, but ask any Fijiian how they’re doing and they’ll tell you, “Always good.” Its so eye opening to see these people that have nowhere near the amount of material possessions as someone in America, they don’t have the cars, the big houses, the money, and yet life is always good. Its weird, you’d think that people come to America for more opportunity, more advances in science and technology, and yet, in the scheme of things, it just complicates life and usually causesĀ  much discomfort. I’ve never met someone in my entire life that says they’re “always good” until I went to Fiji. That was their mantra, along with no worries :) Sanga na langa!!

I was so inspired I wrote a song in Fijjian, here’s the video blog so you can see what heaven looks like :)

Happy New Year to everyone :) This vacation showed me that life is simple, do what makes you happy and you will be happy :) Don’t over complicate it.

From my heart,

Amanda
